My Story
The Beginning:
My name is Gray Stephen Davidock, and I want to share with you the story of my life as a performing artist. I have been drawn to the stage ever since I was a little kid. The first time I ever performed was when I was just three years old in my church’s children’s choir. I was a bubbly energetic child with a very vivid imagination, so to me the stage was a joyful place of artistic expression.
When I was ten years old, I found a new passion in rock music. I began learning to play the bass and acoustic guitar, and started singing in a rock band with other kids my age. I absolutely adored performing with that band for a number of years, but by the time I was a sophomore in high school I began to develop a deeper passion for a different art form; musical theatre.
After performing in Macbeth and The Drowsy Chaperone that year, I was hooked. By the end of my junior year I decided that I wanted to be an actor for the rest of my life.
College Years:
After battling through the effects that the COVID-19 pandemic had on my high school experiences in my junior and senior years, including the impacts it had on the college audition landscape, I committed to Rider University to earn a BFA in musical theatre.
My time spent at Rider was nothing short of the best four years of my entire life. In just four short years I made connections and memories, both on and away from the stage, that will last me a lifetime. My passion for theatre and the arts grew so much throughout college, as I was constantly in an enriching environment for creativity. Every single performance opportunity became so gratifying to my soul as an artist, so I was constantly seeking out as many chances to perform as I could find.
Over the years I performed in shows on Rider’s main stage, student-directed productions, brand new original works, and even returned to my roots and sang in a few rock shows. By the end of my time at Rider, my love for the stage was at an all time high, and I could not wait to get out into the real world and continue to perform.
